Who you talk to and what to ask

How Our Network Works

Who You Talk To

You talk to an independent roofing provider in the network. It is a local business with its own staff, trucks and insurance. Golfpc Roofing makes the introduction. Golfpc Roofing does not do the roofing.

No one at Golfpc Roofing will show up at your door. The person who inspects and quotes your roof works for the provider.

What Happens on the Call

Keep it simple. Expect these steps:

  • You describe the roof: age, material and what is wrong.
  • You mention anything that raises urgency, such as active leaks or recent storm damage.
  • The provider asks about the house: one story or two, attic access, past repairs.
  • You agree on a time for an on-site inspection, if it suits you.

Timing depends on the provider and the season. Request a callback to check provider availability. Many providers can respond quickly, but nothing is promised.

Ground or Ladder?

Some jobs are safe for a homeowner. Others are not.

From the ground, you can:

  • Look for missing or curled shingles with binoculars.
  • Check gutters for shingle grit.
  • Look at ceilings for stains.
  • Take dated photos.

Leave the roof itself to a crew. Steep pitches, wet surfaces, and fall risk are real. Tear-off, decking checks and flashing work need trained people and proper gear.

What to Ask a Provider

  • Are you licensed and insured where I live? Can I see proof?
  • Will you inspect the roof before quoting?
  • What is in the quote: tear-off, decking, underlayment, flashing, vents, cleanup?
  • Which shingle or material do you suggest, and why?
  • What warranty comes from the manufacturer, and what comes from you?
  • Who will be on site, and who is my point of contact?
  • How do you handle weather delays?

Then ask for the answers in writing.

You Are in Control

A conversation is not a contract. You can compare quotes. You can say no. You can pause and decide later. If a provider pushes you to sign on the spot, that is a signal to slow down.

If you have a storm loss, check your policy. Some policies may cover sudden damage. Providers can often help document damage for a claim.
